On Being Adopted has been set-up by Rachel, a UK adoptee, for adoptees around the world.
I was born in the UK and adopted at 6 weeks by my mum and dad, after 2 foster families and of course my first mother. Now in my mid 40s I’ve spent the last 16 years going deep inside for healing and discovered a reserve of determination to live life with purpose.
I believe there is a lack of support for adults who were adopted and I’d like to change this.
I’m passionate about community. healing and support for adoptees who sometimes find life hard yet hope for a more joyful life.
My mission is to create events and online resources which help adoptees heal and thrive, starting with events. More content will be added in the coming months.
About Rachel’s professional life
I’ve been a qualified and insured yoga teacher working with groups and individuals since early 2015.
My intention for yoga is to help people access more calm, balance, steadiness and connection to their peaceful, true self. I continue to train and evolve my understanding of what yoga means and how it can heal. I teach from my lived experience both of yoga and life.
I also do in-house and freelance communications and marketing for organisations, alongside running my yoga teaching business.
I’m a big believer in combining entrepreneurialism (long word!), community and positive change so one of my goal’s this year is to launch my yoga YouTube channel. I will let you know when its live!
